Mark Carey, PE

Mark's MugMr. Carey has experience planning, designing, analyzing, and managing the implementation of a wide variety of projects including water distribution systems, water and wastewater treatment plants, and collection and conveyance systems.  Mr. Carey is experienced in instrumentation and control system design, pump station hydraulics and design, and flow modeling. He has engineered source development projects, river intake systems, and open channel hydraulics for bridge and stormwater channels, and has developed various network models and performed hydraulic analysis of water distribution systems and wastewater collection systems.  His background includes extensive experience in groundwater development, well testing, and conjunctive use program management.  Mr. Carey was responsible for overseeing the development of several large master planned communities in Northern California.

More recently, Mr. Carey has focused on the inter-related water-energy nexus with unique solutions that lower costs for municipalities by improving water efficiency and controlling and monitoring energy demands.

Mr. Carey holds a Bachelors of Science and a Masters of Science in Civil Engineering from California State University – Sacramento.

John E. Predri, PE

Mr. Predri has over 35 years of experience in the engineering, construction, and operation of complex water systems across northern California.

In addition to a background in consulting engineering, Mr. Pedri spent the majority of his career as an acting City Engineer and Public Works Director for several medium and small water utilities in California.  His hands on knowledge of water systems, water operations, and water distribution system planning and maintenance programs makes him an invaluable tool for our water clients by combining real-world operations knowledge with sound engineering practices.

Doyle Champlain

Mr. Champlain has over 30 years of experience managing water and wastewater utility operations.  He holds State certifications for both water distribution and wastewater collection.  More recently, Mr. Champlain has been relying on his extensive public facility experience to help identify efficiency improvements for municipalities in Northern California with an emphasis on water and wastewater asset management and operations.

Richard P. Relyea

Mr. Relyea has been serving the water industry his entire career after graduating from Fresno State with a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He worked directly for the City of Fresno’s water utlity and later served in a consulting role with AECOM, a nationally recognized AE firm. His most recent experience included preparing a component analysis for EID and conducting a leak survey for approximately 100 miles of water mains in the SF bay area.  Mr. Relyea has extensive GIS, asset management, and mapping skills that add value to our unique approach to leak surveys, meter projects, and infrastructure assessment programs.

Jared Nelson

Mr. Nelson holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering from California State University of Sacramento.  Prior to joining MC Engineering he served as junior Engineer for GHD, Inc assisting in water and wastewater design projects.
