Members of the MC Engineering, Inc. team have played a primary role in leading the following water treatment projects to completion:

Water Supply Development and Planning, Tehama County California.  Mr. Carey directed engineers and provided planning services for 3700 lot master planned community.  The project included preparing related engineering in order to comply with SB 610 and 221.  Mr. Carey directed the development of multiple groundwater wells and test holes to prepare a localized groundwater model in order to verify long-term water supplies.  Coordinated water supply studies with Department of Health Services, DWR, and County Water Resources staff.  He managed the pre-design efforts for a membrane bioreactor (MBR) wastewater reclamation facility and related waste discharge permitting with the Regional Water Quality Control Board.  He directed the preparation of a water master plan, preliminary system layouts and pre-design level engineering for major water supply, storage, and pumping facilities to support the community.  He prepared budgets, estimates, schedules and related technical data to support a finance plan and the formation of a new CSD and water district and provided planning oversight for interchange improvements on I-5.

Placer County Water Agency, Foothill Water Treatment Plant, California.  Mr. Carey served as the project engineer for a pre-design report and master plan for 20 mgd expansion of the 37‑mgd water treatment plant.  He conducted pilot filtration studies and presented results to DHS to allow for higher filtration rates based on modified filter media design.

Placer County Water Agency, Water Treatment Plant Expansion and PLC Retrofit, California.  Mr. Carey performed construction support services and field verification of instrumentation and control system construction.

Placer County Water Agency, Foothill Water Treatment Plant, Auburn California.  Mr. Carey developed new control strategies and process and instrumentation diagrams to automate and coordinate the operation of both the 15‑mgd and 10‑mgd water treatment plant.  This project included the addition of a 12 mgd filter‑to‑waste control features and outlining plant-wide SCADA functions.

North Auburn Water Treatment Plant Expansion, Nevada Irrigation District, Auburn California. Mr. Carey assisted in preliminary design and performed hydraulics analysis. He wrote process control and loop descriptions for instrumentation and control systems for the treatment plant. He compiled process and instrumentation diagrams and detailed instrument installation drawings. He also assisted in construction inspection and oversight services.

Buckeye Water Treatment Plant, City of Redding, California. Mr. Carey assisted in preliminary design and hydraulic analysis of this 7‑mgd water treatment plant. He designed sludge handling facilities, including three pump stations and a fire pump system, and wrote technical specifications. He also assisted in the compilation of a comprehensive cost estimate for the project.

Water Treatment Plant Expansion, City of Coalinga, California. Mr. Carey developed control descriptions, process and instrumentation diagrams and specified instruments for expanding and automating this water treatment plant. The project involved the addition of two new filters and a plant-wide SCADA system which accommodated both the existing and new treatment facilities. Mr. Carey also designed the control room hardware and software features associated with the new SCADA system.
