Project Desciption

MC Engineering was retained by the BLSMWC to analyze the existing meters and the related distribution system and prepare a preliminary engineering report (PER) as a first step toward obtaining $12 million in funding for new meters and pipelines throughout the service area. The team helped the Company successfully secure low interest financing in 2016 and is in the process of designing related improvements associated with approximately 1800 water services and related infrastructure. In addition to replacing small backyard mains to improve fire flows and service, the project involves new service laterals, meter boxes, and meters that will be read using AMR technology. The proposed improvements are expected to provide significant operational efficiency gains for the system.
