Dublin San Ramon Services District (DSRSD) retained MC Engineering, Inc. to provide a feasibility analysis for Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) installation.  After conducting the feasibility analysis, MC Engineering was chosen to lead the AMI installation by serving as the construction manager for the project.  MC Engineering also is providing GIS mapping services in support of the DSRSD AMI installation project.  Currently in the first stages of construction, this project includes the installation of approximately 19,000 endpoints and multiple TGB placements.   Unique challenges the team faced included a wide variety of meter brands and sizes being retrofitted, terrain that impacted the range of TGB’s, and a limited budget for new meter assets that necessitated efficiency and maximum utilization of existing meters.
