The Elk Grove Water District retained MC Engineering, Inc. to consolidate the District’s meter books by geographic location and to optimize their route sequencing.  Using Arc-GIS, Mr. Inferrera worked closely with the District’s meter reader to reduce the number of meter books from 21 to 18 while adding over 3000 new accounts to the system and re-sequencing them to follow optimal right side routing.  All meters were entered into Arc GIS and geo-located to provide the city with an accurate map of meter assets. The project is expected to reduce meter reading and billing labor and improve customer service.
