CLOCWD WATER MASTER PLAN
Project Desciption
After assisting the District in the acquisition of a $400,000 planning grant from the Department of Water Resources (DWR), MC Engineering prepared a water master plan that included all critical infrastructure (treatment, storage, booster pumping, distribution) and the testing of approximately 130 meters in efforts to identify Apparent Losses and develop cost estimates for new meters and meter reading technology. The CLOCWD project included developing alternatives that leveraged the useful life of existing meters while verifying the accuracy of all commercial and residential meters through the rigorous meter testing program. The proposed project, for which grant applications are now in progress through the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB), will establish District Meter Areas (DMAs) intended to isolate areas of the distribution system and work in conjunction with a proposed AMI system to help reduce the District’s extreme water losses.
